Out of Zone Enrolments

The Morningside School Board of Trustees has determined that there will be four enrolment periods for out of zone students in 2021 coinciding with each school term.

The deadlines for receiving out of zone applications for each school term will be:

  • November 17, 2020 for Term 1 2021

  • March 9, 2021 for Term 2

  • June 8, 2021 for Term 3

  • August 31, 2021 for Term 4

Prior to these deadlines the Board of Trustees will determine and publish the number of places (if any) that are available at various class levels for out of zone students.

Applications for enrolments will be processed in the following order of priority:

  • This priority is not applicable at this school, because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary for Education

  • Siblings of current students

  • Siblings of former students

  • Children of former students

  • Children of board employees

  • All other applicants

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group must be by ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) if the Education Act 1989. Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newsletter circulating in the area served by the school.

Applicants seeking second or third priority status will be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.

For all out of zone applications for enrolment, please contact Briar in the school office (phone 09 438 2021 or email [email protected] ) to arrange an enrolment interview with the Principal or Deputy Principal.
