Morningside School has a fantastic library filled with an excellent variety of books, magazines and games for all ages. The Library is located to the right-hand side of our school office entrance.

We invite families to pop in with their children before school between 8:30am and 8:55am (Monday-Thursday). Our wonderful Librarian Sonya, is available during these times to return and issue books.

All teams have allocated times to visit and enjoy our library during the week. We really value reading at Morningside School and encourage all children to take books home to read and enjoy with their family.

Our Library is also open during morning tea and lunch times. This is an opportunity for all children to return and issue books, read in a quiet space, colour in or play a board game.

We are very fortunate to be a Duffy School. Your child/ren will receive their own free books to enjoy at home, from the Duffy Books in Homes programme. Every team also gives out special Duffy awards each week at our assemblies. In terms 1 and 3, Duffy Role Models appear in our schools and often are our New Zealand personalities and/or are former recipients of Duffy Books in Homes who are passionate about inspiring tamariki to read.

Book Week is a big event we look forward to each year. This includes games, challenges, book swap, the book character parade and more so keep an eye out for more information (date TBC).

The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!”
